  • Friday 7 June 2019 Burnet News Club - Published We are proud to say that one of our pupils in Burnet News Club has been published in the recent issue of the magazine.
  • Friday 31 May 2019 Year 4 performance - The Pied Piper After rehearsals in front of the school throughout the week, the whole of Year 4 were prepared for the big show to their families. This adaptation of The Pied Piper was full of catchy songs, performed with enthusiasm, including some incredible solos.
  • Monday 20 May 2019 Dragons' Den Local schools took part in a Dragons' Den project, giving them an opportunity to work in teams, learn about business & finance and practise their presentation skills.
  • Wednesday 15 May 2019 Easter Bonnet Parade It was a while ago now but, back in April, we celebrated Spring with a traditional East London event - the Easter Bonnet Parade.
  • Monday 13 May 2019 STEM Week 2019 This year's STEM week involved two of our usual favourites: a science exhibition by Year 5, teaching younger classes some principles of physics; and a demonstration of the magic of chemistry and other scientific marvels from Dr Szydlo.
  • Thursday 9 May 2019 Year 1 London Zoo trip At the end of April, all of Year 1 went on a trip to London Zoo, linked to their last topic, Save The Jungle. See the video here.
  • Tuesday 19 March 2019 Sally Grindley - Author Visit We have been so lucky to have stretched out our Book Week this year to almost three weeks. This week, it was the turn of Sally Grindley - author of 'Knock, Knock! Who's There?', 'Shhh!' and 'Spilled Water'.

  • Wednesday 6 March 2019 Year 1 Bedtime Story Party On Tuesday, the first ever Bedtime Story Pyjama Party was a huge success.
  • Friday 15 February 2019 Half Term competition This holiday, the children from Years 1-6 are having a writing competition. They need to come up with the most creative story or poem about chocolate cake.
  • Friday 8 February 2019 Safer Internet Day The Digital Leaders have made videos to help keep children safe when using YouTube.
  • Friday 8 February 2019 Chamomile Assembly Chamomile did a wonderful job of taking us back to the Blitz of World War II on Wednesday. We experienced some of the terror, but mostly the camaraderie and fighting spirit that brought the people of London together.
  • Friday 8 February 2019 Chinese New Year Our dragon visited the children again this year for Chinese New Year. Everybody enjoyed their fortune cookies and the classes had decorated their doors for this year's theme: the year of the pig.
  • Tuesday 5 February 2019 School Debates On Monday 4th February, Lower Key Stage 2 had their first debate session. They had decided their position on the chosen topics and thought of some very good arguments for their opinion.
  • Tuesday 29 January 2019 Isle of Dogs Cross Country Children from schools all over the Isle of Dogs came to Sir John McDougal Gardens to join in this year's cross country event. We had runners from as young as Year 1 all the way to Year 6 tackling the course.

  • Friday 23 November 2018 Gilwell Park 2018 The eagerly anticipated video of this year's trip to Gilwell Park has now been premiered for the children and is now up for families to see.
  • Thursday 22 November 2018 Shakespeare - The Tempest Last week, this year's company of Year 6 Shakespeare actors performed a confident and highly entertaining version of The Tempest.
  • Tuesday 20 November 2018 Big Draw 2018 The idea behind this year's activity was for the children to have fun creating a mural of a field of flowers through a series of dots, circles, spirals and splodges of different sizes, inspired by Herve Tullet.
  • Wednesday 14 November 2018 NSPCC Wear Green Day Today, children at Arnhem Wharf wore green and donated money to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), a charity that works to help ensure that all children are kept safe.
  • Monday 12 November 2018 School Football Tournament On Friday, children from Arnhem Wharf attended a football tournament for local schools, held at George Green's School. They all had an amazing time, worked together as a team and played with their hearts on their sleeves.
  • Thursday 27 September 2018 Whitechapel Gallery Exhibition One hundred children from Arnhem Wharf worked with Ulla von Brandenburg on her film project. In school, they learned about her work as an artist and were later filmed at the gallery, acting and singing.
  • Wednesday 26 September 2018 Shakespeare Schools Foundation Last Monday, Arnhem Wharf was given the unique opportunity to perform at the eighteenth birthday of the Shakespeare Schools Foundation.
  • Wednesday 26 September 2018 Basil - Architecture Project Towards the end of last year, Basil class worked with the architects Foster + Partners to design a city. They learned a lot about architecture and design processes and won an award for best 3D model!

  • Monday 10 September 2018 Whitechapel Gallery Art Installation Last year, pupils from 3 classes in Key Stage 2 took part in filming a video with Ulla von Brandenburg. It will be showing from September 2018 to March 2019.
  • Thursday 12 July 2018 Year 6 Sailing Once again, Year 6 have had the incredible opportunity to learn to sail over 5 weeks at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre.
