Local schools took part in a Dragons' Den project, giving them an opportunity to work in teams, learn about business & finance and practise their presentation skills. All Year 5 children at Arnhem Wharf came up with ideas in groups and pitched them in class. 6 teams were then selected to pitch their ideas in the school final, judged by dragons who included two members of staff from HSBC in Canary Wharf. Ideas included opening a local trampoline park, installing water fountains in local parks and creating a YouTube channel focused on keeping the children of Tower Hamlets fit and healthy.
The winning team, who proposed a ‘support kit’ for homeless people in Tower Hamlets, went through to the final at HSBC where they pitched their idea to the real dragons! The children presented with great confidence, sharing with the audience their amazing idea for helping those in need.
