Safer Internet Day
This week, there has been an even larger focus on e-safety than usual as it was Safer Internet Day on Tuesday. As well as the this year's theme around consent, our digital leaders did their research and found that the most used online service amongst our pupils is YouTube.
When they thought about the risks there are for children being upset or worse, they came up with three:
- Seeing videos meant for adults (or otherwise upsetting)
- Reading mean comments (or getting contacted by strangers)
- Posting videos of themselves (for strangers to see)
They decided to make the following videos to help children remember how to keep themselves safe.
For more advice for parents and carers, we have also created a comprehensive guide to YouTube, highlighting the things you may not be aware that your children are experiencing and ways to help protect them. Click below to read.
