Science Week
Welcome to Arnhem Wharf Science Week! This year’s science week is all about our diverse planet and protecting all kinds of wildlife. London is home to lots of wildlife and Spring is a great time to search for what animals, insects and plants live near you.
One important job of a scientist is to keep count of the number of different species on our planet. We want you to be scientists this week and count all the different species you can find. Reception and Year 1 will be looking for minibeasts and animals. Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 will be looking for common types of birds found in London. Year 5 and Year 6 will be looking for common trees and plants found in our city.
From your home or on your daily walk, look out for species in your year group’s category and count how many you find. Take a paper and pen with you so you can keep check of your names and species. When you get home, put your numbers into the Arnhem Wharf Wildlife Hunt document on Google Classroom.
At the end of the week we will add up all our numbers and should have some really helpful data for scientists to use on wildlife in East London. Happy hunting!
